The Jessica Harrington trained Persian Calyph (10/1) made most of the running to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden at Dundalk today.
The son of Intikhab was strongly pressed late inside the final furlong by 13/8 favourite Lungarno Palace but winning jockey Shane Foley kept Persian Calyph going for a head win.
Harrington was absent but Foley later stated “he ran well the first day in Leopardstown and I don't know what happened him the last day – he was beaten too far for it to be right.
“I had a good draw today so I used it.”
