Peak hits form to give Carr welcome winner
Atlas Peak and John Carr came in from the cold when landing the second division of the seven-furlong handicap at Dundalk.
The winner had failed to shine since a couple of placed efforts earlier in the season while Carr hadn't saddled a winner 'on the track' since Easter.
Conor Hoban produced his mount to lead over a furlong from home and he stuck on well to record a convincing length-and-three-quarters success over Withnail
"It's good to get off the cold list! I had a winner point-to-pointing the other day but that's my first on the track since Benash won at Fairyhouse on Easter Tuesday," said Carr.
"This lad ran well mid summer but lost his form and dropped a few pounds. Conor's 7lb was a big help.
"I'll try and run him once more before the season is over and then he'll go back jumping.
"He was entered in a maiden hurdle at Musselburgh on Monday but that was called off. He wasn't meant to come here at all."
