Pause And Ponder wins for Tyner/Enright
Pause And Ponder justified strong 6/4 favouritism when following up a recent Navan hurdles win, with another success in the Mr. Binman Handicap Chase at Limerick today, winning for trainer Robert Tyner and stable jockey Philip Enright.
The son of Oscar was returned 6/4 favourite and in the race, arrived travelling strong into the home straight. However he did tire in the closing stages and in the end held on for a half length win over Lisclogher Lad
Tyner was in Leopardstown and following the race Enright stated “he was lucky he had a light weight on the ground and tied up a bit at Navan the last day too. Robert and Mary (Tyner) have done an unbelievable job with this horse - he has had problems and they gave him the time and the owners were also very patient. It’s great when they repay them like that.
“Hopefully he can pick up another race at that level and he likes heavy ground.”
