Party beats off Velocity challenge
Start The Party got the better of stable-mate Miss Velocity in the seven-furlong maiden at Dundalk.
The Andrew Oliver-trained pair fought it out from over a furlong out with the Kevin Manning ridden Start The Party asserting close home for a half length verdict.
"We've hit the crossbar a few times in the last few weeks so it's nice to get one over the line," said Oliver.
"He's a nice horse. We've always thought a good bit of him and he held a stakes entry earlier in the season.
"On his first run he was third to a horse that finished second in the Dewhurst and then he got stuck in the mud at Navan.
"With the gallops being flooded he came here with no work last time and blew up.
"The filly is as tough as old boots and deserves to get her maiden. We've just run out of season and that's why we had to run the two together."
