The Sean Byrne trained Steel Park caused a 16/1 upset to win the www.leopardstown.com Handicap Hurdle on the line at Leopardstown today, scoring a nose success under Andrew Leigh. The Way We Were was clear or much of the straight but Steel Park wore down the leader on the run-in to edge his nose in front at the line.
Afterwards Byrne stated “Steel Park just got there and was entitled to that. He has had bits of problems - he used to bleed and had back trouble but that's all sorted now.
“He has always loved this place and was second in good bumpers here - he'll probably go to Punchestown now.”
