Donie McInerney returned to his local Limerick racecourse today where the hero of Thursday's Paddy Power Chase was again on the mark in the Watch Sky Sports Rated Novice Chase on the Eric McNamara trained Internal Transfer
McInerney steered the Enda Bolger trained, J.P. McManus owned Auvergnat to win Thursday's feature race, worth E110,000 to the winner, at Leopardstown and was again on the mark for fellow Limerick man Eric McNamara on Internal Transfer, who made all for an easy 10 lengths win over Young Paddymc
McNamara himself had a winner at the venue yesterday with gambled winner Owl Creek Bridge and following today's win said “he made one or two novicey mistakes but all in all, you'd have to say he jumped well.
“He's a fine strapping chasing type and he'll make a fine chaser.
“He is a grand horse and has been very consistent and solid for us bar we brought him to Cheltenham last month which was a huge mistake as he got so wound up. He ran his race before he got to the start and even riding him around that morning he had his race run.
“We'll see what handicap mark he gets and he could go handicapping or for a winners' of one. He'll stay chasing now and hopefully he can progress further.”
