Oxx wins Group 2
John Oxx was continuing his good run when winning The Irish National Stud Blandford Stakes (Group 2) with Katiyra ridden by Michael Kinane in the familiar colours of His Highness The Aga Khan.
The Peintre Celebre filly won in great style holding off the consistent filly of Kevin Prendergasts Beach Bunny by an easy 4 lengths.
John Oxx said afterwards, "She won well the last day there was no worries about the ground although it was gluey and sticky. She was 3rd in the Oakes and now has won a Group 2 so we'll set her up to try and win a Group 1 now. She might go for the Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp. We're not so sure about 1m ? for her but a 1m and ? is perfect for her."
