The Sandra Hughes trained Nearly Nama'd caused a 40/1 surprise when leading home a 1-2 for owner J.P. McManus in the Grade B EasyFix Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse today, in the process denying the owner's better fancied 4/1 favourite Minella Foru
Ridden by Roger Loughran Nearly Nama'd, which returned 172/1 on Betfair, stayed on gamely from the second last fence and in the end proved two and a quarter lengths too strong for Minella Foru, which had been backed from 7/1 this morning.
Afterwards Hughes stated "he loves that ground and was very sweet at home and working well; I gave him a chance.
“He's a great jumper, and can go that pace in the ground and he's in the Paddy Power but is better over this trip 2m1f."
