Our Pollyanna showed a good attitude to see off all-comers and gallop relentlessly to the line in the closing mares’ bumper at Punchestown.
In the end she pulverised the field sluicing through the heavy ground in the final furlong to come in nine and a half lengths clear of Indian Fairy
The 7/1 chance was ridden by Pat King and trained by Prunella Dobbs who said: “It was a very convincing win. She’s a very genuine, nice mare. She has developed hugely from last year into a very nice mare.
“Jim O’Neill picked her out himself at the Land Rover Sale. He has a very good eye and she has developed tremendously.
“We’ll probably go for a winners’ bumper. She likes the ground and we’ll take advantage of that.” Shuilamach (20/1) was beaten for second by a short head by Indian Fairy (7/1). Shake The Tree for Willie and Patrick Mullins, was the 9/10 favourite, but didn’t get a look in back in fifth.
