Our Bobby was nicely backed on track from 9/1 to 13/2 in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle in Bellewstown and prevailed under Eoin Walsh.
John Burke 's charge was always holding Hidalgo Des Mottes who looked threatening between the third-last and penultimate flights in this 2m4f contest.
He took the honours by three-quarters of a length from the 11/2 runner-up. Inforapenny (5/1cf) was five and a-half lengths further back in third.
Walsh said: "I got away in a nice position, travelled strongly and jumped super.
"Travelled into it well and got there a little bit soon, winged the last couple and toughed it out actually - a good performance.
"A little bit of company would even have helped him I think, idled a little bit from the back of the last. Got the trip well, in fairness.
"I could hear someone coming, but I was always kind of snug enough."
