Oscar sprouts Wings in bumper
Oscar Wings provided Longford trainer Liam Reilly with a welcome change of luck when causing a 16/1 shock in the Lydon House Catering-sponsored bumper.
Niall Kelly, partnering his tenth winner, had to sit and suffer on the rail for a while in the straight before eventually getting an opening.
The Oscar mare quickened up nicely when eventually getting out to overhaul the short-priced newcomer Robin Angevin (10/11) by three quarters of a length, with Sids Choice (25/1) another half length back in third.
The well-supported Roxborough (6/1, 12's this morning) slipped up at halfway.
“She's quite hot and needs to be held up, and got a very good ride,” said Reilly afterwards.
