Freescape came down the outer with a determined finish to grab the spoils in the seven furlong rated race on Dundalk's card.
The Cityscape gelding was settled in rear of mid-division by jockey Oisin Orr who had recently returned to action from injury.
He was ridden for his effort a furlong and a half down and really hit his straps inside the final furlong.
The 9/2 shot kept on well to get up close home by a neck. Sister Lola (4/1) had to make do with the runner-up berth and was the same distance in front of Major Power (22/1).
“He had a good comeback run here the last day and he would have needed it a little bit,” said David Marnane.
“I think he'll be better over a mile, he got away with it today. I don't think they went as strong a gallop as I thought they would but he came home well anyway.
“It's good to have him back, there are two €20,000 handicaps on the run up to Christmas and the next day is over a mile so that should be fine.
“We'll see where we go from there and he might go back to Dubai. If he wins another one of those we might bring him.”
