Stormy Entry justified strong market confidence (morning 7/2, returned 13/8f) at Dundalk today, landing the concluding Floodlit Fridays At Dundalk Race for trainer Willie Browne and jockey Seamie Heffernan.
American-bred and by Point Of Entry, the colt chased Ninth Life in second but led with a furlong to race, eventually holding promising newcomer Miami Thunder by half a length.
Browne, who has been trading as a breeze-up consignor since 1978, gained a first blacktype success with juvenile filly Spirit Gal, for today's owner Charles Fipke, in September's Listed Star Appeal Stakes and said "he (Stormy Entry) improved for the extra furlong.
“He ran a little bit differently tonight, a bit keen. I suppose being his second run, he was probably smarter and wiser. I just thought he might have settled a bit better.
"The fancied horses were well behind and there was a bit of chat about the second horse (Miami Thunder), but the ones with form were well back. It is onwards and upwards with him."
