Only was made to work to justify her short price in the Horseraces S.A. Of Greece Maiden at Leopardstown this evening.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained filly had been runner-up on both previous outings and went to post a 1/3 shot in the mile contest to open her account,
Wayne Lordan was soon prominent on the daughter of Deep Impact and she was in front after a couple of furlongs.
The hotpot was asked for an effort passing the two pole and found plenty in the closing stages, galloping on to record a length-and-three-quarters win over the fast finishing Gambe Veloci
“She had two lovely runs before today and had a little break since her last run,” said stable representative Chris Armstrong.
“She's a lovely big tall filly with plenty of scope. She''ll probably step up in trip and step up in class.
“It's great to get the win for her and know we'll look to try and get black-type for her next.
“She's in the Blandford on Champion Weekend and that could be an option, we'll see how she comes out of it.”
It was a double on the card for O'Brien and Lordan following the earlier victory of Maybe Just Maybe in the opener.
