One Two for Gigginstown in Thurles Opener
Sun Tzu was the one for money this morning for the www.thurlesraces.ie Maiden Hurdle and that support proved correct as he headed the front-running Madman after three out and a mistake by that one at the last, settled the result.
Both Sun Tzu and Madman were racing in the Gigginstown House Stud silks and the latter was rallying when getting the final hurdle wrong, eventually going down by three lengths to the Davy Russell partnered 5/2 scorer.
Winning trainer, Tom Taaffe said: "He is a big raw baby and he is improving with each run. He'll have a small break now and then have one or two more runs before we let him out. He is from the family of Silver Birch and it's all an educational process at the moment." (EM)
