One Job gets it done in testing Tralee
The opening race, the Lee Strand 3YO Maiden Hurdle, at Tralee today saw One Job spring a 20/1 surprise in very testing conditions, for trainer Adrian Sexton and jockey Ian McCarthy.
The gelding had previously finished last at Ballinrobe from a Flat rating of 46 nine days ago but left that form well behind here, eventually led from the third last flight before staying on well in the straight for an eight length win over Verumontanum
Just nine of the 17 runners completed and a swift change of going was announced, from 'Soft' to 'Soft to Heavy', officially.
The win was the eighth of the season for 7lbs claimer Ian McCarthy, and his third the last 30 days.
