The Winkler recorded his second win over fences as he got the better of Sandymount Duke in the Malton Novice Chase.
Sandymount Duke was all the rage with punters, opening on-course at 4/9 before going off the clear market leader at 4/11.
The Winkler on the other hand proved easy to back, going from 7/2 to 4/1.
Settled behind the leaders by Brian O'Connell, the Eoin Doyle trained victor was fourth with a circuit to race.
He went second after three out as the favourite attempted to go on. The duo jumped the second last together, and at the last The Winkler emerged with a narrow lead, keeping on best on the run-in to score by a length and three parts.
Sandymount Duke had to settle for second under Robbie Power for Jessica Harrington, while Festive Day was thirty-two lengths back in third.
