Matt O'Connor recorded his first win as a professional when winning The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase aboard the Colm Murphy trained Sher Why Not
O'Connor raced his mount in behind the leaders, made progress approaching straight, led at last where slight mistake and kept on well to hold off the efforts of the Charlie Swan trained Boulavogue
Murphy said afterwards, "I'm delighted for Matt [O'Connor] he's waited long enough for his winner. The horse wasn't winning out of turn. We have no real plans for him, we'll enter him in a handicap and see what kind of a mark he gets and may go for a winners of one. He's a better horse on better ground."
