O'Connor off the mark on first attempt
De Dodger was an appropriately named winner at Gowran given than hurling legend D J (the dodger) Carey is a native of the village and he proved to be a result for the bookmakers in the concluding Rockview (Q.R.) Flat Race, crediting his rider Aine O'Connor with her first winner.
Seamus Braddish 's De Dodger, coming into this contest on the back of a 263 day break, battled back after being headed by Sheer Genius to prevail by three parts of a length.
O'Connor said: "I'm from Limerick and that was my first ride on the track."
