In a race of changing fortunes, Ingleby Mackenzie grabbed his first win for nearly three years in the opportunity handicap chase at Clonmel. Ciankyle strode past Jack Holiday before the penultimate fence and looked to be on good terms with himself, however, Silver Star narrowly headed him at the last with Ingleby Mackenzie in close attendance on the outer.

Silver Star pecked upon landing and Ingleby Mackenzie surged past him to win going away by three and three quarter lengths at 7/1.

Silver Star (18/1) clung on to second by a nose from Broder (12/1). Jack Holiday, the favourite, dropped out of the places in fourth.

Henry de Bromhead said: "I'm delighted for David Maughan, it's his first winner and he has had a couple of horses with us and Paul Roche recommended the horse to us. He is from Dublin and has been very patient.

"The horse loves that better ground and hopefully we'll have a bit of sport with him and he is in Wexford on Wednesday so we might think about going there.

"I'm delighted for Michael (O'Connor) - it's his first double and he is really going places."

Ciankyle gave de Bromhead and O'Connor a double on the card as they took the preceding race with Arvico Bleu

Adam Williams took a fall at the first fence from Wild Desire and an IHRB update confirmed that he was transferred to hospital for X-rays. He was fully conscious leaving the racecourse.
