O'Connell boots home Brog at Punchestown
Dunguib's jockey Brian O'Connell registered his second winner of the Punchestown Festival today, partnering newcomer Brog An Ri to win the O'Hare, O'Connor, Walshe Solicitors Bumper.
The son of King's Theatre, a third winner for the stallion on the day, tracked the leaders before eventually improving to lead close home, for a three parts of a length win over Itdosnot Botherme
Winning trainer Joe Crowley was represented by his assistant Damien Byrne who stated "we have always thought the world of Brog An Ri but it was touch and go whether or not he'd run, as he needs better ground."
He added "Brog An Ri may now be put away until the Galway Festival and will go hurdling next season."
