Aidan O’Brien’s nine runners at Royal Ascot today failed to yield a winner but the Champion Trainer didn’t leave empty-handed on the day as his final runner, Old Time Waltz made a winning handicap debut at Naas today in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Handicap.
Ridden by the trainer's daughter Ana O’Brien, the daughter of War Front went clear of her rivals in the straight before claiming a length and a half win over Fascinating Lady
Following the win jockey O’Brien, who is seeking to become just the second successful winning jockey at Royal Ascot on Asking in the Sandringham Handicap tomorrow, stated “she's a lazy little one and you have to try and make up her mind for her.
“It's great to get a win into her as she's a well-bred filly. She's tough and kept at it well.”
