Record-breaker Joseph O'Brien is raising the winners' bar to a new height with every winner he rides and the Champion Jockey-elect moved on to 126 wins for the season when steering Waver home in the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Handicap at Dundalk this evening.
Winning trainer Aidan O'Brien wasn't present but his son and winning jockey later stated “he (Waver) was suited by the surface and I got a nice run up the inner and he quickened up well when I asked him.”
The racecourse subsequently made a presentation to O'Brien in recognition of his record breaking year which saw him surpass Michael Kinane's record of 115 winners in an Irish Flat season.
