Donnacha O’Brien completed a Monday afternoon treble on Pasley in the concluding Gowran Park Golf Memberships For 2020 Handicap. He’s now on 101, leading Colin Keane by 5 to be Champion Irish Flat Jockey for 2019.
O’Brien won earlier for his father Aidan on Arthur’s Kingdom and King Pellinor Pasley meanwhile is trained by his brother Joseph.
All these horses are by Camelot. O’Brien put up two pounds overweight at nine stone on the last of them.
That nearly proved crucial, as markedly up in trip Pasley showed a good attitude to eventually master the older, Liars Corner by a neck. Father Ailbe finished third, four and a half lengths back.
“He's still raw and he doesn't want the ground that bad either,” said Donnacha O'Brien.
“I was off the bridle the whole way and the last 50 yards he pricked his ears again so I think there is plenty in there. He's still learning.
“He stays well and around a more galloping track with a bit better ground he'll be better again.”
On Joseph reaching 500 winners he added:- “It's unbelievable to get that many in the time he's been training. It's nice to ride it for him.”
