Like in the first split we had a Northern Ireland-trained winner of division two of the www.fairyhouse.ie Maiden Hurdle as Now Where Or When prevailed for owner/breeder Margaret McCrudden.
Mrs McCrudden has her Where Or When gelding with Stuart Crawford, and thirty five minutes on from the success of New Society for Keith Watson, J J Slevin steered home another northern victor.
The market-leaders dominated this two and a half miler as Now Where Or When (5/2 second favourite) came home in front of Champagne Sparkles (7/4 'jolly') and Barney Stinson (100/30).
The margins were two and a quarter lengths and three and three parts of a length.
“He's not winning out of turn and he appreciated the better ground,” said Crawford.
“JJ gave him a good positive ride and he's improving away all the time. He's never run a bad race really but he couldn't handle heavy ground, but still ran well on it.
“We'll be looking forward to him going over fences. I might run him again a couple of times as he handles that ground, we'll pick something out for him.”
L.P. Dempsey, rider of Be One (GB) trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly.
R.P. Treacy, rider of Mitchell One trained by A.J.Kennedy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung in the straight.
M. Hamill, rider of Noble Expression (GB) trained by David Peter Dunne, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a noise.
