November Tale made it third time lucky when arriving late to win the Elusive Pimpernel Maiden at the line at Dundalk today, winning for trainer Ger Lyons and jockey Colin Keane.
The daughter of Casamento had plenty to do in third place passing the furlong pole but finished strongly to edge her head in front passing the line, a short-head in front of dead-heaters Jackmel and Time Constraints
Afterwards Shane Lyons, representing his trainer brother Ger Lyons, stated “we took a gamble over seven furlongs but it paid off; she wants a mile now and definitely a mile-and-a-quarter next year.
“She’ll be a nice filly and is after blooming in the last few months. She has really come to herself and has a beautiful coat on her today. She’s a typical Casamento and will make a nicer three-year-old.
“There wouldn’t be much for her now and she’s done her job now as a two-year-old. We’ll treat her with a bit of respect.”
