David Wachman trained his third winner of the Festival at Galway, and the Longfield Stud operator got a boost ahead of Legatissimo's Nassau Stakes bid at Goodwood tomorrow, when Nova took the Guinness European Breeders Fund Maiden under Billy Lee.
On start number three and equipped with a visor for the first time, 4/1 chance made all and he kept up the gallop for a four and a three parts of a length win over Pictogram
"I would have been happy to take a lead but he jumped well and I left him alone. He travelled well all the way and I got a little chance at the top of the hill and I just gave him a squeeze and he just gallops - he's a fierce genuine horse," reported Lee.
"He didn't mind the ground but he would want it better and I was happy with that.
"It was a good win - he had the bit of experience from the two runs - he won well."
