Morning favourite Silence Please, winner of the Salsabil Stakes at Navan on fast ground last year, is a notable non-runner in the featured Group Three Blue Wind Stakes (2.40pm) at Naas this afternoon.
After overnight rain, the ground is now yielding to soft and Jessica Harrington has withdrawn the daughter of Gleneagles and Shane Foley will presumably switch to stable companion Sacred Rhyme
The Ballylinch Stud-owned filly, by soft ground influence Lope De Vega, won her maiden on easy ground at Thurles last year and was an encouraging third in the latest renewal of the Salsabil Stakes last month.
Sacred Rhyme is now towards the head of the market, at around 5/2, along with Aidan O'Brien's Willow over four lengths behind her at Navan but fancied to leave behind that run.
Another significant non-runner later on the card, also due to the change in ground, is Shahaada in the 7f fillies' maiden at 3.50pm. Kevin Prendergast's charge was second favourite ovenight, and Ballydoyle's Montego Bay second in handicap company at the Curragh on Monday, is now a best-priced 4/5 favourite.
Montego Bay's conqueror earlier in the week, Pale Iris is favourite for the following contest, the Irish Racing Writers Handicap at 4.25pm, in which Linda Barrett one of two in the race for Fozzy Stack, has been well supported from 9/1 into 4/1.
