Nolan gets the Gold
The Paul Nolan trained Acapulco Gold made it two Ballinrobe wins in 13 days when taking featured EPS Pumps Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe today, winning by a neck under Andrew McNamara.
The son of Azamour didn’t help his chances with a blunder two out but recovered quickly and eventually collared leader Walden Prince close home for a narrow win.
Afterwards Nolan stated “I don’t know whether or not he improved from his win the last day - Gordon’s horse (Elliott, Esporao) which he beat the last day was beaten since though.”
“Hopefully he won’t go up too much for that, he only won a neck, and is a horse who would ideally be suited by a more galloping track. We’ll go for the Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel next.”
