Nolan excited by bumper winner
Paul Nolan completed a double in the concluding Riverfest Bumper at Limerick when introducing a promising Kayf Tara gelding Westmeath sporting the colours of Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown House Stud.
The well-supported 5/4 favourite was always going well under a patient ride from Katie Walsh, making smooth headway to lead over a furlong out.
Despite losing her whip about a furlong out, the five-year-old kept on well enough for Ms Walsh to beat Good Time Donie by a diminishing neck.
Nolan, earlier on the mark with Ach Aye Surely was very enthusiastic afterwards about the winner saying: “He's one of the nicest young horses I've had for a while. The ground today is as quick as he'd want, and he'll be left off now and come back hurdling in the autumn.”
