Down the field behind stable companion Cape Gentleman in the Cesarewitch last time, Sneaky Getaway today made it two from two over flights in the I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse.
Brian Hayes made all on the 15/8 joint favourite and he asked for more from the seven-year-old two out.
Ridden clear approaching the last, Emmet Mullins’ charge stayed on well on the run-in to beat Farceur Du Large by two and a half lengths.
“He’s been a great servant for the yard and that’s his sixth win. We’re delighted and it’s good to get him back going again,” said Mullins.
“He got injured after his maiden hurdle win in Roscommon, and hopefully he can go up a bit in grade now.
“A lot of people were worried about his jumping because he was a seven-year-old who went on the Flat but we just hadn’t schooled him. It’s never been an issue and he’s always been a good jumper.”
