Emulous got the job done in the Group 3 TRI Equestrian Stakes at the Curragh as the 4/5 favourite completed a double for her rider Pat Smullen (earlier a winner on Tiddliwinks .
Prince Khalid Abdulla's Group 1 heroine tracked the leaders in fifth before making headway to challenge and lead inside the final furlong, going on to beat outsider One Spirit by a length and three parts.
Successful trainer Dermot Weld said: "I'm delighted with her. She's a proper Group 1 filly and when she won the Matron she beat a very good field.
"She usually takes a run and she was a number of kilos up coming here today, she was about 90 per cent.
"The steady early pace suited as we weren't looking for a mad gallop.
"The Windsor Forest at Royal Ascot would be the logical progression now, that was a nice comeback and she's done well from four to five.
"As regards tomorrow I'd be concerned about the ground for Famous Name and I'll have a look at the top of the hill. If there's not enough water on he'd be a doubtful runner." (GC & EM)
