Tim Doyle broke new ground when saddling a 1-2 for the first time as No Fussing edged out stablemate Monza Man at his local Thurles track in the Holycross Maiden Hurdle.
Favourite backers would have been on good terms with themselves as Young Darleen led travelling well away from the penultimate flight where Walk Out pecked badly and unseated rider.
However, the 7/4 market leader found little when asked for an effort and the Doyle pair swept past soon after the last.
No Fussing kept on in determined fashion under Niall Moore to beat Monza Man by a length and a half, with Fruit Blossom taking third spot a further ten lengths adrift.
Doyle said, “It is great to get a result like that, it's my first 1-2 and I've rarely ran two in a race. I thought both would run well and didn't think there was much between them - they both ran well on their last run. I didn't mind which of them won!
"They are two nice, progressive horses for the summer. Both will go handicap hurdling and Monza Man is a real chaser in the making and had a brother Staker Wallace who was placed in Cheltenham twice.
"You have good and bad weeks with homebreds and you need to keep selling. When the horses are out of form it is a struggle but when they're on a good run, there is always interest in horses.
"Metamorphius runs in the Fred Winter Hurdle for Paul Nolan tomorrow having won a maiden hurdle for us."
He added, "Ella is my first grandchild, it's her first day racing and her father (Ambrose McCurtin) rode the runner-up, having ridden her the last few times.
“Niall (Moore) had ridden the winner previously so the riding arrangements were easy decisions to make."
