Nina steers home gambled-on Charlie's Vic
Noel Kelly saddled 7/4 favourite Charlie's Vic to win the concluding bumper at Sligo with Nina Carberry in the saddle. Co Derry based trainer Kelly had also sent out Mighty Whitey to win this bumper last year at 25/1.
The Old Vic filly was backed from a morning price of 5/1, opened at 11/4 at the track before being supported down to 7/4 and won by nine lengths from 50/1 shot Karuska
"She's entered at Doncaster Sales on Wednesday. We'll maybe go there and see how it goes," Noel Kelly said.
"There's very high fees and I don't know if we can get there as the boats are all being cancelled.
"If we sell her we sell her but I don't mind keeping her. I'll put a high reserve on her.
"She's had two runs in 10 days and it's a bit unfair on her as she's only four but we took the opportunity with the sales coming up.
"She wasn't very sore on herself to win her point-to-point and that's why I ran her today.
"If I keep her she might go for a winners bumper. She has plenty of speed.
"She jumps well and stays well and goes on any ground."
