Nina and Marwood strike in last
Marwood ridden by Nina Carberry took Kilbeggan's bumper in a close finish by a head and a neck from Phoenix Star and Realt Den Chathair
The Roger Joseph McGrath trained gelding was sent off 2/1 favourite. Runner-up Phoenix Star saw money from a morning price of 7/1 to an SP of 4/1. Banksandditches went off 12/1 after being backed in from 20/1, however, after joining the leader Craigs Dream half a mile out, this gelding faded to finish fifth.
Owner and breeder Tyrone Molloy from Co Waterford said: "This horse is a full brother to Withnail who I also owned and bred.
"Withnail didn't stay a mile but this fellow stays two miles. I'll probably run him on the flat under rules and I may try over hurdles after that. He wants good real fast ground."
