The John Nicholson trained Swift gained a second career win at Listowel today, finishing well to win the Harvest Festival 10th-16th September Handicap Hurdle under jockey Jody McGarvey.
The daughter of Beneficial had previously won at Navan in January and today quickened for a length and a half win over Mullen Dollar Man.
Afterwards Nicholson quipped “shur she had to be fit because she carries me every day! I thought she’d run well but thought it might come a week too soon as we gave her a break after her last run.”
He added “there is a great bunch of lads into her (Fair Of Borris Syndicate from Borrisoleigh) and they’ll enjoy it - I’ll be home a lot earlier than they are!
“We’ll keep her going for the summer and these little tracks suit her. We’ll probably go for a chase later on but there’s no point jumping big ones when you win small ones!”
