The Jessica Harrington trained Newberry New confirmed 11/10 favouritism when making all to win the Sea Moon & Shantou At Burgage Stud Maiden Hurdle at Gowran today, under jockey Robbie Power.
The son of Kodiac stated on stoutly in the closing stages for a 15 lengths win over Oiche Maith Boy.
Afterwards Harrington stated “the heavier the ground the better he likes it and for a Kodiac he gets two miles and will probably get two-and-a-half.
“He was out in front and doing nothing but he jumps great and Robbie was able to stoke him up.
"Hopefully it rains all week and he'll head for the Grade 3 next weekend. That will do his confidence the world of good.”
