Twice runner-up from five starts for Jessica Harrington, Nelda made a winning debut for Paddy Twomey when making the most of a nice opportunity to land the Executive Helicopters Maiden at Killarney.
With an official rating of 86, having upwards of a stone in hand of her nearest rival, the daughter of Dark Angel was sent off a strong 4/9f to get off the mark.
Leading from the outset under Billy Lee, Nelda was chased by Free Flow until early in the straight but with the latter coming under pressure at that point, the Paddy Twomey trained filly came clear on the bridle to register an effortless seven-and-a-half length success.
Winning trainer Paddy Twomey reportes: "She is a well-bred filly, is a sister to two Group 1 winners and it is nice to break her maiden so this was important. She was entitled to win and are delighted to win.
"We will go home now, see how she is and make a plan."
