Nectaris showed great heart when fighting hard for victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Nursery at Leopardstown this afternoon.
Jessica Harrington gave Colin Keane the leg up on the Sea The Moon filly and she proved a very willing partner for the champion-elect.
Nectaris was soon in front in the seven furlong contest but was tackled a furlong-and-a-half from home by Past Time
Having got the better of that rival inside the final furlong the eventual winner then had to repel Shanghai Dragon to gain a head victory at the line.
“She's tough, she was a bit free early on but when she got to the front he said she settled great,” said Harrington.
“When he wanted her at the line she was tough and stayed on very well. He said there is a fierce headwind up the straight.
“That's it for the year now and we'll keep her for next year. It's great to get two wins out of her.”
