Connections of Ripples Effect are hoping he can carry the Sunderland Holding Inc silks to more success in the Come Racing For Summer Ladies Day June 13th Handicap at Navan.
The colours - close to those of the great Sea The Stars - had a successful airing at Fairyhouse on Thursday evening when Blue Paraiba, a daughter of the now highly successful sire, ran out a heavily backed winner.
Ripples Effect is also a son of the Gilltown Stud resident, and he competes for the same trainer and jockey as Blue Paraiba in John Oxx and Declan McDonogh.
A 340,000 guineas foal, the now four-year-old Ripples Effect belatedly made it to the track last month at Limerick and immediately began to make up for lost time, showing a good attitude to justify favouritism in a maiden.
More tellingly with regard to his chance now, the Currabeg runner performed admirably when pitched into a handicap at the Curragh last Saturday, on Irish 2,000 Guineas Day.
Such events on big weekends at Headquarters are fiercely competitive, and to see Ripples Effect finish a close-up fifth was quite a pleasing return. He promises to be well-suited by the step up to 10 furlongs.
Among the other eight, Kings Ryker and Unsinkable are the ones that could provide the stiffest opposition.
The other couple of events over a mile and two on the programme are among the more noteworthy, particularly the concluding Trimgate Street Maiden.
Many will fancy Ballydoyle runner Cenotaph to go a place better than his couple of silver medals to date and the extra distance may help, but he does face a formidable rival in New Agenda who is a well-related half-brother to a Group performer in Tested.
The Bective Restaurant Handicap 35 minutes earlier could easily see a market springer or two, with several in this big field starting off in the sphere. At this juncture Docali appears one of the likelier types.
