Barry Connell and Alan Fleming doubled their score at Naas as Zaheer impressed at the first time of asking in the Go Racing In Kildare (Pro/Am) Flat Race.
There may have been only five runners for this four-year-old affair, but one got the impression that we saw at least two smart horses in action, namely Zaheer (Stevie Clements up) and the runner-up Good Verse Evil All You Need did the business for Connell and Fleming in the first under Adrian Heskin and in the finale Zaheer (11/8 favourite) made all.
The son of Pivotal asserted travelling well in the straight and commendable and all as Good Verse Evil's attempts to stay with him were, three and a half lengths split them at the line.
There was a distance of fifteen lengths back to the third placed Satinspar
"He's a lovely big horse, and handled the ground great," remarked Fleming.
"Steven was impressed with him so that's good. I'm not sure if he'll go for a winners bumper or whether we'll leave him off for the year."
