Punters got off to a flier in Limerick as 2/5 favourite My Hometown landed the odds in the two mile maiden hurdle for four-year-olds.

Bookmakers took no chances with the son of Presenting who was impressive in winning a Dromahane point-to-point by four lengths this month.

Mark Walsh was on board in the JP McManus colours for Enda Bolger and he had the gelding settled second as Kennady cut out the running.

My Hometown took closer order upon jumping the third last and moved to the head of affairs entering the home straight.

He was challenged on the inside by the rallying Cest Notre Gris after the second last, but a good jump at the last sealed the deal and he strode to the line with two lengths in hand. Cest Notre Gris kept on for second at 8/1 while the nicely-backed Cliff House was a length and a quarter back in third at 4/1.

Winning trainer Enda Bolger said: "Spring ground should be right up his alley. We'€™ll sit on the fence for a while now.

"He'€™s a big raw horse and a chaser for next season. In fairness to him he stayed on well when taken on."
