Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley made it a double on the afternoon at the Curragh as My Holy Fox showed great determination to open her account at odds of 17/2 in the DMG Media Fillies Maiden.
The sister to Group 2 winner Banimpire appeared in trouble when driven along over two furlongs out by found plenty under pressure, leading 150 yards out before going on to beat Punakha by three quarters of a length. Zumoradda kept on well just a neck further away in third.
Mrs Harrington said, “At Gowran she was very raw and green but she ran on well in the end.
“I wasn’t sure if we were going the right distance today as I thought she needed a mile and it looked like that halfway through the race. Suddenly she quickened up and she won.
“She’s a beautifully bred filly and has won a Curragh maiden now. Some black type would be nice and she probably needs to get her toe in. Things fell right for her today.”
Harrington and Foley were also on the mark earlier with 2/1 favourite Cowboy Justice in the juvenile maiden.
