Measure Of Magic (11/2) certainly proved that she had trained on when winning the Listed Committed Stakes on her seasonal reappearance.
Twice a winner and Group 2-placed as a juvenile, she was a little keen in the early stages but Ben Coen did a good job in getting her to settle in mid-division.
The Kodi Bear filly made good headway over a furlong out and wore down Logo Hunter (17/2) in the closing stages to win by three quarters of a length with the 6/5 favourite Lipizanner back in third.
The Johnny Murtagh-trained winner justified the decision to buy her back in for 100,000 GB pounds when she was offered for sale last August.
Winning rider Ben Coen said: “She only got five last year but she's strengthened up from two to three well.
“I rode her to get the trip, she quickened up well for me but she didn't do much when she got there.
“She's a nice filly, a proper sprinter with loads of speed. Five or six, it doesn't matter to her as she's strong enough now to stay six.
“She loves the ground, she's a good moving filly. Hopefully she'll improve again off the back of that.”
