Johnny Murtagh was continuing his good run when winning on the impressive Masterofthehorse trained by Aidan O'Brien for owners Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith and Mrs John Magnier.

Murtagh's mount led early in the straight and won in great style by an easy 4 1/2 lengths. The horse to take out of the race was Jessie Harrington's The Bull Hayes ridden by Fran Berry who was slow out of stalls and ran on well to finish 3rd.
