Murtagh completes Curragh treble
Jockey Johnny Murtagh completed a good day’s work at The Curragh today when recording a treble in the concluding P.G. Duffy & Sons Mazda Maiden with 6/4f Dance Secretary
Dance Secretary was all out to hold on by a head from Betrothed The stewards held an enquiry into interference inside the final furlong but left the placings stand.
Afterwards winning trainer John Oxx, himself recording a double on the day, said “we were disappointed that Dance Secretary was beaten at Limerick the last day but she didn’t like being in front for so long.
“However, she is now worth her place in better company and a mile is probably her best trip That is my first winner for her Canadian owner Charles Fipke.”
