On her first start since March She’s Commanche ran out a well-backed winning favourite of the Return Of The Jumps Handicap Hurdle (DIV I) at Fairyhouse.
Supported from 13/2 into 4/1 favourite the Adrian Murray runner accounted for The Dreams Alive by five and a half lengths.
After recent doubles at Gowran and Downpatrick, winning jockey Sean Flanagan was maintaining the momentum in what has been a decent start to October for the Wexford man.
“It took a long time for us to get her settled, she was always very free and wound up,” said Murray.
“It took us over a year for us to get her to relax and settle at home. We did an awful lot of slow work with her.
“Sean said she'd want that ground or softer. We had her in at Gowran last week but took her out as we thought the ground was too quick for her.
“Hopefully we can pick up another one with her, fingers crossed.”
T. Ryan, rider of Brindabella trained by W.J.Austin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.
