Robert Murphy and Mikey O'Connor combined to land division one of the Clammers Point Mares Flat Race with Flamingos Gold the chestnut daughter of Flemensfirth leading before the straight and keeping up the gallop to beat What An Flyer by three lengths.

Murphy trains in Cappoquin, County Waterford and he has had success in the past with the likes of Darrens Lass.

He said: "She'll go for a maiden hurdle next, possibly in mares company. I only have a few horses in training."

Murphy trains Flamingos Gold for owner/breeder Stephen Curran.
