Joe Murphy (third winner of the festival) and Gary Carroll completed a double in the premier nursery when Lord Massusus (13/2 from 10s before the off) ran out a convincing winner.
Runner-up in a Gowran maiden last month, the Markaz gelding sat second to Evening's Empire before going past that one over a furlong out. The latter could find no more and nothing landed a blow from off the pace as the winner scored readily by two and a half lengths from With Love
The 5/2 favourite Tiymara slipped up at halfway and gave Ben Coen a very nasty fall but luckily he was able to walk away, albeit somewhat gingerly.
Carroll, successful earlier on Murphy's Prophets Voice said: "It was very straightforward, I sat second and he travelled nicely and took me into it. He is still plenty green but when I squeezed him at the two (furlongs marker) he picked up and when he hit the front he pricked his ears.
"We tried him over six (furlongs) early doors early doors but the speed didn't suit him - this trip suits him. He has the size and scope to make a nice three year old.
"Joe is at the sales so he may go and buy a few more horses now. His horses are running great but I'm going to tell him to stay away more often!"
