Danny Mullins produced Black Benny with a perfectly timed run to land the spoils in the beginners chase at Roscommon.
Shane Broderick's charge tackled Minella For Value at the last and proved stronger on the run-in to record a length success.
The Barry Connell-owned winner was having his third run over fences and was returning to the larger obstacles after a good run over timber at Killarney last month.
“He has loads of ability and it was just getting everything right today – getting him jumping and the ground. Thank god it all worked out,” said Broderick.
“It was a great finish. He does have a turn of foot and a bit of class. I've nothing laid out for him and Barry and myself will have a chat. He needs that good to firm ground.”
